If you talk to my parents they will tell you I have been interested in trains since I was little, an interest that has never been lost. I became interested in non UK prototypes when at University (around 1998). As a member of the local model railway club I was envious of the members with Swiss and US outline models which ran so much better than the usual fayre available from UK makes at the time.

The swiss models were (and still are) eye wateringly expensive and at the time US models were much cheaper. This started an interest that has stayed with me ever since. I am a mber of the NMRA and of the Thamesiders Model Railroad Group (www.thamesidersmrg.org.uk) and am one of the team behind that group’s HO modular layout.
